Career coaching

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a structured process, based on the trust between the Coach and the client, in which the coach serves as a facilitator for the client, at his pace and with his resources, to define and achieve his goals.

These objectives can be of all types: personal, professional, team, leadership, communication, etc.

What is not Coaching?

Coaching is not Therapy.
Coaching is not Psychology.
Coaching is not Consulting.
Coaching is not Mentoring.
Coaching is not Training.

What does Coach do?

  • Creates a relationship of trust with the customer.
  • It helps the customer to define and specify their objectives concretely.
  • It helps the customer define what is most important to them and what prevents them from achieving it.
  • Helps the customer reevaluate their habits and eliminate ineffective behavior patterns.
  • Assists the customer in exploiting their own resources and discovering ways to get new features that allow them to maximize their performance.
  • Facilitates a process in which the client explores and evaluates new perspectives or options, which are in line with their priorities, aiming at a positive impact on him and around him.
  • It commits the client to define and perform concrete tasks that lead them to achieve their goals.

How does Coaching work? What's different from other approaches?

Unlike other approaches such as therapy, consulting and teaching, Coaching assumes that the Client already has all the resources he needs to achieve his goals, or can create and find them. That is, a Coach does not diagnose and prescribe a treatment, does not analyze and advise, nor teach the Client.

A Coach questions. And the Client responds. But if the Client already knows the answer, what do you need the Coach for?

The power of questions

The questions, whatever they may be, are not as innocent as they may seem at first glance. Almost every question has an assumption at its base, which must be accepted by those who answer, so that it can answer. That is, when a person asks "How many times do I have to tell you to set the table?", for example, you're assuming from the start you're going to have to have the table set up several times until the other person sets it. Likewise, when you ask yourself "Why did he decide to pick on me?", you're assuming he decided to pick on you, excluding all other hypotheses.

The kind of questions you ask others and yourself determine the kind of answers you get, the perspective with which you see reality, and, consequently, how you shape your life. Thus, in Coaching, it starts from powerful, positive assumptions that incite you to action.

You only find what you're looking for

And you don't always look for what you really want to find.

Often the solution to your problems is right in front of you. You just don't see it because you're focused on something else. But you're looking for the solution, aren't you? If she was in front of you, of course you'd have found her by now!

The point is, we don't always see what's in front of us, because we're focused on other things. If you don't believe me, do this little experiment the next time you go out on the street for more than 15 minutes: Before you start think about the letters on your car's license plate. If you don't have a car, think of some kind of letter combination, "IR" for example. How many cars with those letters on the license plate do you think you're going to find? Now get out of the house and count everyone you can find. Did you ever notice there were so many? And yet, you pass cars with those letters on the license plate every day. You're just focused on other things.

Likewise, you are looking for a solution to your problem or a way to achieve your goal, in a certain place, in a certain way. Often, within your comfort zone and what's familiar to you. What Coach does is help you open your horizons, look for solutions elsewhere, connect points that were previously disconnected in your mind.

Coaching works as a light focus. You're focused on your problem and Coach will help you focus on your goal, take the light off what doesn't benefit you, and illuminate the path, resources and motivations that will get you where you want.
